Attorney Lars Anderson
Lars Anderson received his B.A. from Luther College in 1992 and his J.D. (with distinction) from the University of Iowa in 1995. He has been admitted to practice in the courts of Iowa since 1995 and is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association and Iowa State Bar Association, where he is a member of the real estate law, family law, business law, employment law and criminal law sections. Lars has also served as a Judicial Hospitalization Referee for Johnson County since 2003 and was an alternate Referee from 1997-2001.
Lars has been a member of the Dean Mason Ladd American Inn of Court since 2003, serving as president from 2012-2013. He is also a member of the Iowa Council of School Board Attorneys and National Council of School Attorneys. Lars has been recognized for pro bono service by the Iowa Supreme Court for donating over fifty hours of time in both 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.
In addition to professional involvement, Lars has been active in the community. He is member of the Iowa City Downtown Rotary Club, having been a charter member and serving as president in 2008. He is currently on the board of directors for the Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County, serving as secretary/treasurer.
Previously, Lars was on the board of directors for United Action for Youth from 2001-2009, serving as treasurer from 2002-2005 and chair from 2005-2007. He has also served on the Facilities Leadership Planning Team at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City, the Constitutional Committee for the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Luther College Fund for Excellence Committee, the Iowa City Historic Preservation Commission, and was a member in the Iowa City Jaycees.
Lars has presented at numerous professional organizations on topics including real estate law, school law, criminal law, and the involuntary commitment process.
